Prior to his arrival at Athletic Mentors, Brian Whiting spent six years as a Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning at West Virginia University. While with the Mountaineers he designed and implemented various training programs for strength, power, conditioning, and mobility for women’s basketball, women’s tennis, and men’s golf.
Brian also served as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University. During his time with the Spartan strength and conditioning staff, he helped design and implement training programs for various sports teams such as wrestling, baseball, volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer.
Brian earned both his bachelors degree in kinesiology in 2009 and his master’s degree in kinesiology in 2011 from Michigan State University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa.
A native of Plymouth, MI, Brian grew up loving to play and be involved in sports. He continues that passion today by helping others through physical and mental training. His tremendous coaching experience has helped many top level athletes achieve their goals.
Brian resides in Kalamazoo with his wife, Elise, and daughter, Shay.
